In the Community

When Jesus began his work, he started with this radical statement recorded in Luke 4:18:-

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.”

Jesus also said about himself (Matt 20:28):-

“…the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

We aim to continue Jesus’ work in proclaiming good news; this is at the very core of our vision as a church family within our local community. We want to express this practically in many diverse ways and in partnership with others.

Our vision is to love people wholeheartedly which is at the centre of all that we do. We love people without prejudice, judgement or favouritism with an attitude of service, following the example of Jesus.

As the church continues to grow, we want our service to the community in social action projects to grow too. Currently we serve the local community in many ways including Growbaby, Parish Nursing, BeginWell (antenatal courses), Messy Church, and also supporting the East-The-Water Community Pantry.

We are currently looking into further opportunities to serve our community which we hope to launch in the coming months.
