At the core of our church community is a deep desire to work in partnership with other believers both within Central Church Bideford but also with other local churches, as well as working in partnership with other local agencies and charitable institutions in order to be a blessing to the local community that we serve.
“Partnership in the gospel” is famously highlighted in the Bible in Philippians 1:5, where the Apostle Paul thanks the church for their support: “because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now”.
This represents a shared, active commitment to spreading Jesus’ message of love through prayer, financial support, and mutual effort.
As a church we believe that we are to be a force for good within our local community and to be a tangible expression of the love of God for all men, women and children – who all have inherent value because we are made in the image of God. (Genesis 1:26-27)
Our commitment to working in partnership with other local churches is expressed through our mutual commitment to the work of Bideford Churches Together, Torridge Christian Network and Grosvenor Church (our parent church).
Our commitment to working in partnership with the wider church nationally is expressed through our membership of the Evangelical Alliance, our links with 24/7 Prayer and Counties.
We also seek to be actively partnering with other charities and organisations who are working for the good of the local community which we serve; some examples of this are :-
- East The Water Community Pantry (further details here)
- Christmas Toybank and Hampers (partnering with Bideford Bridge Trust). In December 2025 we delivered 122 hampers plus a total of 1144 wrapped children’s gifts to 278 children from 128 local families.
- Parish Nursing (further details here)
- Growbaby (further details here)
- Begin Well (further details here)
- Messy Church (further details here)
We are looking to expand these partnering alliances within our local community in the coming years – watch this space!
